As a not for profit organisation with no government funding Paradise Kids relies heavily on volunteers to successfully deliver its Grief and Loss Programs. Paradise Kids Brisbane relies heavily on volunteers to successfully deliver its Grief and Loss Programs. Since beginning with our inaugural support group in October 2008, Paradise Kids Brisbane now has 30 volunteer ‘Buddies’ who are able to assist from time to time. We need more, however, to enable us to offer more support groups to assist Brisbane families. Being a buddy at Paradise Kids Brisbane is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences for me. I consider it an absolute privilege to meet the children and guide them through the program knowing that I may have some small role in helping them to deal with their grief, whether in the present or the future.
