Rev. Dr Ian Mavor OAM, FACE

Co-Founder and Executive Director

Ian serves as Executive Director of Hopewell Hospice Services Inc., which includes Hopewell Hospice, Hopewell Outreach Service, Paradise Kids, the Living Well Centre and Hopewell Educational Services, a College of Transformative Education.

His qualifications include BA, BD, BEd, Dip Phys Ed, Dip Rel Ed, EdD (TC, Columbia Uni. and UTS, NY). A Uniting Church Minister, much of Ian’s professional life has been in specialist roles. He has been a Teacher and University Lecturer, Master of King’s College within the University of Queensland, Dean of the Brisbane College of Theology, Principal Education Officer (Health and Personal Development) in Education Queensland and Executive Director of Lifeline Gold Coast.

As well as his administrative responsibilities, Ian teaches numerous courses as part of Hopewell Education Services and provides pastoral care in the Hospice. He has served as a member of the Health Community Council of the Gold Coast Health District and as a member of the State Council of Palliative Care Queensland. In 2002, Ian was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) “For service to the community through a range of church, social welfare, education and health groups.”
